Julio Romero P. has a BA in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá), and he has a research position at the Central Bank of Colombia (Cartagena). Romero’s current research interests are in demographic estimation, mathematical demography, defective data, infant mortality, and health of populations. He is writing his dissertation on three topics using demographic analysis: A Model Life Table of Infant and Child Mortality; The Age Pattern of Infant and Child Mortality in the Context of Less Developed Countries; and The Dynamic Response of Physical and Mental Health of Mature Adults in Rural Malawi.
